I have agreed a date with Kits4causes and Oxford City Football Club to hold a football shirt amnesty tournament to collect shirts to send to children and adults in Sao Paulo during the World Cup.
The tournament is set for the morning of Saturday 19 April 2014 and aims to bring together football fans to donate their unwanted football shirts and raise funding to send them to Sao Paulo. Included in the cost of entry to the tournament is entry to Oxford City against Hednesford Town at 3pm. This gives football fans the chance to play in the tournament in the morning, and then relax and watch the Skrill North sides battle it out in the afternoon with a well deserved beer on the terrace.
The excellent Community Arena facility at Oxford City FC will host the event. The 3G pitches are perfect for the tournament and there are changing rooms available for the participating teams. The event is limited to 15 teams, and there will be prizes for the winners.
The full details and format of the tournament are still being worked out and I hope to announce them towards the end of January or early February.
